Description
The Test Automation Engineer / Test Architect is a hands-on quality leader embedded in a product squad and attached to the Quality Chapter. They build and lead front-end, end-to-end and load test automation, ensuring industrial-grade quality and seamless integration of tests into the CI/CD pipeline.
They design the testing framework, define standards, and enable developers and Quality Engineers to efficiently write, maintain and own automated tests — acting as an enabler rather than doing everything alone.

1. Test Strategy & Framework Design
- Design and implement a front-end, end-to-end and load testing framework.
- Define and maintain testing standards, guidelines and best practices.
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline, including standardised reporting and dashboards.
- Monitor coverage, stability and performance of automated tests; drive continuous improvement of the framework and suites.
- Coach and support developers and Quality Engineers so they can efficiently write and maintain automated tests.
- Contribute directly to automation work without becoming a bottleneck; focus on enablement.
- Collaborate with the Quality Chapter to align with group-wide Quality Engineering strategy and tooling.
Requirements
- Previous experience in Software Development & Architecture is a must.
- Strong experience in test automation architecture for front-end and end-to-end testing.
- Hands-on expertise with modern test frameworks and tools (e.g. Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, API testing tools) is a must.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions).
- Experience with web applications and distributed systems; comfortable working closely with developers.
- Ability to standardise, document and evangelise Quality Engineers practices across a squad or multiple squads.
- Strong communication and coaching skills; able to act as referent/expert for test automation while keeping an enabling, non-bottleneck posture.
- Good understanding about performance/load tools is a nice to have.
- English is mandatory, french nice to have.
- Test automation coverage and stability (especially front-end and end-to-end).
- Reliability and speed of CI/CD pipeline gates driven by automated tests, by building it , maintaining it, and scale it.
- Reduction of production incidents linked to functional or regression gaps over time.
- Clarity and adoption of testing standards, dashboards and reports by squads and stakeholders.
- Level of developer and squad participation in test automation.
- Continuous improvement of the test framework (e.g. reduced flakiness, faster execution, broader coverage).
